We are a worshipping church.
We gather for worship on Sunday mornings at 10:55 a.m. The hour of worship concludes at noon. Central in the worship service is the sacrament of Communion, the Lord's Supper. Participation is open to all who profess Christ as Savior and Lord.
Come worship with us!
We warmly invite you to become part of a church where everyone is welcomed and accepted, challenged and affirmed, respected and loved. We are an open congregation of believers who confess Jesus as the Christ and proclaim Him Lord and Savior. Upon this simple confession we receive and welcome you to Ridglea Christian Church. Ridglea Christian Church is a member congregation of the denomination known as the Disciples of Christ.
Members of the Christian Church do not claim to be the only Christians, but enjoy being thought of simply as Christians -- a part of the body of people believing in Christ. One may become a member of this congregation by voluntary profession of belief in Christ, or by transfer from any other Christian denomination. The Christian Church practices baptism by immersion, but welcomes anyone who is satisfied with his or her baptism. Our fellowship encourages diversity and freedom. We find ways to work, study, fellowship, and worship together in unity, honoring Christ's prayer for us…"that they may all be one.
A SPECIAL PLACE TO PRAY
Did you even want or need a special place to talk to God? The Worship Department invites you to the Room for Prayer at Ridglea Christian Church. The room, located in the office wing of the church, has been thoughtfully furnished with a candle (representing symbolically the Light of Christ and the presence of the Holy Spirit), a prayer journal, a Bible, devotional literature, and a cassette player with quiet music. You are welcome to come by and sit a spell, or kneel, if you prefer."During those days Jesus went out to the mountain to pray; and he spent the night in prayer to God." (Luke 6:12)
