Thoughts on prayer as a place....
Last Sunday in worship we sang the hymn, "Near To The Heart of God",
the words proclaiming that there is a place of quiet rest, of comfort
sweet and of full release, and that place is near to the heart of God.
I believe that the name of that place is prayer. Prayer is the place
that God provides for us as a way to be close and in relationship. In
this place we find comfort and full release coming as we are before our
God. In this place we confess, praise, petition and open ourselves to
the very voice of God. In this place, if we listen, we will meet our
Savior and experience joy and peace. In this place we can be
transformed to be more in the image of our Lord and Savior. In this
place we are forgiven, loved and empowered. In this place we are free
and saved. There is a place near to the heart of God and that place is
prayer.
God Bless!
