About Our Church
About Our Church We are a Congregation of the Christian Church
(Disciples of Christ)
We are a ministering church.
Through Christ we want to enable persons to discover and develop their gifts for ministry. Special groups in our church help members and visitors discover and develop their gifts. These groups include a variety of Sunday School classes; Christian Women's Fellowship; Christian Men's Fellowship; Keenagers' Fellowship (individuals who are fifty years of age or older); Chancel Choir; Worship Band (guitars, percussion instruments; youth fellowships led by adult sponsors and the Youth Minister; mission trips, summer camping and conference programs for youth; leadership training and workshops for all ages; weekly Tai Chi class, and monthly Bridge Group. We encourage our members to develop new groups to meet their particular needs or interests. We eagerly invite you to come join us - both to grow and be nurtured, and to assist in ministering to others

We are a learning church.
The Christian education of adults, youth, and children is a priority at Ridglea Christian Church. Christ commissioned: "Go into all the world, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you." Our Sunday School begins each Sunday at 9:45 a.m. We have classes for children and youth. Currently there are four adult classes. Our young people meet for programs of study, fellowship, and service Sunday evenings.

We are a serving church.
In Christ's command to love our neighbors, feed the hungry, visit the sick, clothe the naked, and welcome the stranger, we seek to find needs and meet them. We contribute to many local service agencies, both financially and through the work of our hands. We support Disciples' ministries and institutions. Through the budget, special offerings, and the Good Samaritan Fund, we respond to needs at home and around the world.

We are a growing church.
Ridglea Christian Church has had an important role in ministry and service through Christ for over four decades. The congregation was chartered in June 1953 and has been at the present location of 6720 West Elizabeth Lane since that time. Our foundation is Christ. Christ is the very life of our church, the Lord of all we do. We believe that we are here to provide a powerful witness in the community. We invite you to serve, worship, pray, minister, learn, and fellowship with us.
Come share and grow with us!
We are a worshipping church.
We are a worshipping church. We gather for worship on Sunday mornings at 10:55 a.m. Central in the worship service is the sacrament of Communion, the Lord's Supper. Participation is open to all who profess Christ as Savior and Lord. We also offer a monthly service of Prayer and Wellness at 7:00 p.m. on the third Wednesday evening of each month.
Come worship with us!
We warmly invite you to become part of a church where everyone is welcomed and accepted, challenged and affirmed, respected and loved. We are an open congregation of believers who confess Jesus as the Christ and proclaim Him Lord and Savior. Upon this simple confession we receive and welcome you to Ridglea Christian Church. Ridglea Christian Church is a member congregation of the denomination known as the Disciples of Christ. Members of the Christian Church do not claim to be the only Christians, but enjoy being thought of simply as Christians -- a part of the body of people believing in Christ. One may become a member of this congregation by voluntary profession of belief in Christ, or by transfer from any other Christian denomination. The Christian Church practices baptism by immersion, but welcomes anyone who is satisfied with his or her baptism. Our fellowship encourages diversity and freedom. We find ways to work, study, fellowship, and worship together in unity, honoring Christ's prayer for us…"that they may all be one."
