Chi Rho

Youth Organization for 6th, 7th and 8th Graders

What does Chi Rho Mean?

The Chi and Rho are the first two letters in the Greek word for Christ. Our CH was one letter in Greek and was shaped like our X. The Greek R had the shape of our P. By combining the Rho or P to one arm of the Chi we get the symbol XP. Our Middle School youth group uses Chi Rho as their name and symbol. The symbol depicts the monogram over a circle. The circle represents the world. Together, the images represent Christ over the world as conqueror and savior.
